Allowing Landline to verify accounts.

Discord should allow landline as verification because
Not everyone owns cellphones and

1, landline cannot be abused
2, Reason it cannot be abused cus installing multi land-line in same household is costly, too much trouble, time consuming for multi numbers.
Spammers and trolls wont spend that kind of money.
3, I had same number for 11 years and when I move I will keep same number.

Is same as cellphone you can keep or change number.

Trolls and spambot uses disposable VOIP, GoogleVoice, etc not landlines nor perma cellphones unless they change numbers on their perma cellphone which will only delete their voice box etc.
Changing number on landline is a pain, you must switch phone company etc.

  I second that request, and to discord staff: take a wild guess at how many people will encounter the same problem and not voice their request.

  • VOIP, Burner/Prepaid, and Landline numbers can not be used to complete verification. You must use a mobile number to verify.

  There are countries where most of the people use prepaid sim cards on their cell phones and do not usually have contracts. This seem to make impossible to some people to be verified. 
  
  I understand preventing ab-use but this seems to prevent even legit use.
  
  I am also curious to know why landlines are excluded.

  This poor execution for 2factor authentication intentionally punishes users in the USA where as countries with a high distribution of prepaid sims (like everywhere else in the world) is given free reign.  The product managers and security team who drive these shortsighted policies need help and move toward 2020.  They need to understand how a 17 year old can perform SIM Swapping using social engineering techniques.

   

  VOIP numbers Landlines should be added to verification techniques as well as FIDO U2F tokens.

  As a senior, I wish Discord would allow landline phone verification since all I have is a landline phone.

  My bank uses my landline for verification so why not Discord?

  Now I won't be able to go to Snapdragon or OPPO Discord.
