Total Member Count
-
Many of you are missing the point. The suggestion is a counter native to the Discord application that shows the total number of members (perhaps it could display numbers of members on different types of roles) of a server, in that server. There are alternatives to this already as mentioned, including bots and of course displaying an invitation link, the latter being a bad idea if you control your invites. The point is if we had this then alternatives needn't be sought.
Bots are a great addition to Discord, but many of them are filling in minor features that could easily be incoporated into Discord. The bot landscape has turned into a makeshift app' store--if you can think of a feature, there's probably a bot that can do it. To me, that's actually more of an issue than it is a boon. If anything it tells you that users want more out of Discord than it already provides. Especially when the features are somewhat minor, it makes you wonder why they aren't already a part of something that Discord does itself.
Discord doesn't do this itself.

Yes.. please. Add this feature. If I'm on a server and want to know how many people are online or the total members - I have to either use a bot, or go to the invite link, or count them all individually. That's just silly. Look at reddit - Right there on the right side at all times - Total number of subscribers - and how many are online now. Simple.

Why do we have to post an invite somewhere to see how many members are on a server we are already members of?
If they can show it on the invite why isn't there a way for me to see it after being invited? Server settings does not seem to be active for all servers and some don't let you invite but require that you are invited by certain links the admins post in different places.

I don't understand why Discord doesn't have this simple feature.
I thought about it for a while, then I thought about it some more. Then I thought, "am I actually just bat crazy to expect such a feature?", so I did a Google search and I found this thread

It's in the top left, already there, but nice try!
Where? I can't see, only way to see is going to member list on server settings if you are owner or moderator in a server. If you are not a moderator, only way to see is pasting the invite in some chat... It's not a good way to see in my opinion
Edit: on mobile I can see clicking in server name and looking the info under the name, but I didn't find an easy way to see on PC if you are not a server moderator

tssk, guess what, might not have been there two years ago

Where do you claim it is? I'm trying to see the member count of a server I'm not managing, but just a member of and I can't find it anywhere.

Old thread, sorry for responding late.... I have found a way.
Dev mode > copy the server ID > go to https://discordservers.com/ > paste the ID there > hit enter > see member count. Please note this only works for Public discord servers with the bot, but it is popular on official ones. :)

Member count is only visible on the mobile app in a server's details menu (three dots next to server name). Please add it to web app so we can see the total members and online members from the web app.

They removed the member count from the invites yesterday 4-2-2021. How do we now keep of our total member count?

It's still there for me. I can still see the number of members when sending an invite. Make sure that server is a public server

Discord is such a huge platform and there is no way we can see how many members are there in server. We can only see if we are admin, moderator or owner. otherwise how should we see?
this thing disappointed me a lot ..please add a server member count on discord server as of many other major platforms(instagram-shows followers /youtube-shows subscribers) and many more......-1 -
Go to Server Settings >> Members.

Well the easiest way to do it is to create a role. Whenever someone joins the server, one bot will automatically give it to them (you have to set this up manually). Then whenever you wanna see how many members there are, go check that role.
The only downside to this is that this role must be the highest role and you must display this separately from online members in order for it to work.-10 -
Server settings > members

Where exactly would this be shown? -12 -
The common thing to do, is to just have an invite in the main channel and that will show in the info total members -16 -
It's in the top left, already there, but nice try!
