Emotes in the newest version

There was a new version for discord which updated about and hour ago at the moment I write this, and apparently, now, when I want to send an emote, I have to scroll down to every single emote of every single server I'm in.
I don't have nitro and the global emotes appear highlighted, but still. Before, I just could see the emotes I could use, the global ones, but now I have to see all, even when I am unable to use them.
I'd like to know if there is an option to hide all the emotes I can't use and, if that option doesn't exist, tell you that it was a massive downgrade. I didn't like how the computer version would do this, so I was very comfortable using the mobile version, but now is just as annoying.
EDIT: Today there was an update as the comments below say and they got rid of this problem (thank God). Let's hope this never happens again.
ANOTHER EDIT: The problem is back. I went to configuration and there wasn't anything to solve it, just a new option to buy nitro. That's just shameless and I'd say disgusting. Now I don't know if I should expect them to do something.

I honestly agree, I 'd like to be able to hide emotes that I can't use, as I'm in LOTS of servers, and it gets tedious scrolling around just to find the emotes that I can use.

Today's update brought back the greyed out unusable emojis for me, and I'm not seeing an option anywhere. Really disappointed.
Edit: the greyed out emojis also show as search results... What's the point? It doesn't entice me to subscribe to nitro one bit, it just makes me want to leave my lesser used servers which would mean I use Discord less overall. Seems like the opposite effect of what you'd hope for.

Wish i could upvote this a hundred times although Discord doesn't care either way.
EDIT: There was an update today which restored it back to how it once was, I'm a betatester btw. So yeah, very appreciated.
EDIT #2: They're back now... how about you just make it optional so both sides get the benefits?

the tab is literally unusable with that, the nitro is visible on menu so you don't need another ad, also that makes the app lags due loading thousands of emotes and it caches all that emotes what is terrible for low space devices and of course we have the gif emotes visible what causes lag and crashes the app depending on how much you have on the screen.
not counting the fact that scrolling down that tab is harder in mobile.9 -
Ended up downgrading to 8.6.0 because of how annoying this was

That's not what they're asking for. They're asking for non-Nitro users to only see the emojis from the server they are using at the time. Removing the permission you speak of affects Nitro users as well.

Edit 2: And it updated again. Having to scroll past every servers greyed out emojis is back. Still no option to hide them as far as I can see. Really hope it's reverted like before because this is terrible UX design.
Edit: Got an update and they're gone, so maybe it was an error on their end or something. I'm also a beta tester, so may be on a slightly different version, but it seems like they changed it back.

There needs to be an option to hide them. If you're in a lot of servers it just makes the emoji selector unusable. Plus only people with Nitro can even use emotes from other servers, so it's just dead space. At the very least they could have gone at the bottom if you're going to force it to be displayed to try and push Nitro on more people.

I had no idea people were having this issue before the most recent app update, which introduced it for me.
I submitted a feedback ticket earlier today and they marked it as duplicate with this one and closed the thread. Anyway, since that thread will be deleted I’ll just post my complaint here:
After the recent app update, discord shows a long list of frequently used emotes, many of which are unavailable because I do not have Nitro.
The frequently used list exists for users’ convenience, to speed up their emote selection, but this change does the opposite. I have to scroll further to see the server emotes, there is more visual clutter to sort through, and sometimes I accidentally tap an unavailable emote and am interrupted by a Nitro pop up.
If you want to show me an ad for Nitro at least be up front about it. Intrusive methods like these only engender hostility from users. When I’m using the emote picker I’m looking for an emote I can actually use. Please do not show me emotes I cannot use.

They should add a toggle instead of removing them, the toggle would be better in my opinion as later down the line ARM cpus might be able to handle the load. This is a problem for weaker phones/cpus. I have a underclocked snapdragon 650 (6 cores, 2 big and 4 small) with only small cores online at 400mhz and most of the time it's able to load the emotes without any problem but sometimes it can't and I am not able to find the factor due to my limited knowledge. Even when I "overclock" my cpu it still manages to crash.

100% support this, same for PC as well. It would even be fine if they showed by default and there was a setting to hide them. Discord, as much as I love you, decisions like these have been slowly making my opinion more negative.

It's also bothersome as mobile was a great alternative emote wise for those who struggle with epilepsy

I feel that this would be annoying to me personally and other I know, if this was to be implemented I would suggest that it be toggle able.

Thing is before the update, I could only see the global emotes when in my main servers, but after the update I have to deal with seing all the emotes from all the other servers im in (which I can't use cause ofcourse, I don't have nitro) which makes it extremely annoying to scroll through as I can even see the nitro only emotes. All I'm asking is that they make the emote keyboard as it was before.

I have the same annoying problem. I'm in around 90 servers so it's annoying seeing every single emote looking for the one I'd like to use

This is actually starting to anger me. They haven't acknowledged it at all. I was actually interested in buying nitro before but I don't want my emote drawer to be so cluttered. Let us either hide other emotes or put them at the end

Ive been waiting a while for an update to fix this or to hear something from discord about this but it seems that it wont be the case.
I think the easiest option right now is to downgrade to a previous version of the app.
Honestly this thing is a huge pain in the ass, the emote drawer is practically unusable if you dont have nitro, it lags like hell to even open or it outright crashes the app, doesnt matter how new or old your phone is since Ive tested this across different devices, better downgrade until discord decides to do something about it (if they ever do)3 -
Please revert it. Having a clogged emote selection with tons of emotes I can't use because I don't have Nitro is terrible. Having to scroll through so many servers just to see the one you used before is very annoying. I didn't update my mobile Discord in while so I had the old way where unusable emotes were hidden and access to emotes was real easy. But now, even the emote list isn't even in your server order anymore! Not even alphabetical either!
I had my servers organized by ones I frequently checked and for easy to find emotes but the order doesn't make a difference anymore.

Ye its also kinda annoying when the server has so many nitro emotes and i have to scroll long to find the normal emotes i wamt to use.

Bad move. Phone freezes for a good 10 seconds everytime I open the emote menu after relaunching the app-- and my phone is pretty beefy. I can imagine it being worse on older phones. It's also a chore to scroll down to the emote I want.
If I want to buy nitro, I would look it up first and read the perks for myself. No need for this emote bait tactic.

I'm not saying that. They say it lags like hell on every phone, to which I respond saying it has never lagged on my phone (or any other mobile devices I've used Discord on). Actually, I've never even heard anyone speak about this problem before I found this post. And I upvoted it, if you wanna know. I don't like the mass amount of emojis either.

Finding an emote has become more difficult now that I see all the emotes available.

Definitely agree for an option to hide the other emojis from other servers if you don't have nitro. Like an option of which servers emojis you want to see for a more custom. Because even if I was to get nitro some servers emojis I don't care for

Looks like 8.6.3 is the last version that is usable to us folks who don't have $1000 phones. The newest 8.8.8 allows for disabling the animated emotes in the emote picker menu, but unfortunately, this does not rectify the issue. Discord still often crashes and freezes when opening the menu.

Really disappointing to see that it got fixed and THEN unfixed. At this point can I really expect anything :/

Version 864 is still good too. I'm not updating further at the moment.
