"This invite may be expired, or..." when in fact the server is public, but I was already a member

Hello.

This is more an issue I'd like to report, than a question, and not sure if there is a better place.

I was already a member of one of the servers but forgot about it. I then tried to join, and got a ... IDK, very generic error message, which was misleading: "This invite may be expired, or you might not have permission to join.".

It took a while for me to really realize what's the real problem, and even that was coincidentally.

It's possible that I messed something up, because I'm a discord newbie, but I doubt it :)
