[Suggestion] Expanding Beyond Selling Just Games
Discord has made a big point recently to move further away from their gaming branding and branch out to include the numerous communities that the platform fosters. So far, in my opinion, this has resulted in some excellent, much-needed changes to the platform that makes it exceptionally more accessible. That being said, there is one big feature that Discord implemented a few years back that I think desperately needs to be expanded upon: selling game titles within your server.
This is something I was, personally, really excited for when it first launched. I was hopeful that it would lead to something bigger, allowing unique discord servers separate from gaming to easily distribute their digital goods. That hasn't happened though. The possibility of creators and teams easily selling (or simply distributing) their digital goods (such as but not limited to music, videos/movies, art, and computer programs) directly within their discord servers seemed like an amazing, intuitive idea. Even creating the possibility of taking donations through discord servers feels right.
There's the solid groundwork to build off of here, and I'm super curious if my opinion on this is the same as yours.
TLDR: Discord should expand the ability to sell games within a discord server to other digital goods like music, videos/movies, art, and computer programs.
