Accessibility feedback.
I have been using Discord for a while now and I have some feedback on the things I find frustrating and possibly suggest what might be easier.
The current method of entering the server tree view by pressing space and using up/down arrows is great! Please don't change that again.
Possibly assigning each voice channel as a button so pressing "b" will quickly navigate through channels. The channels used to be set as a list, so clicking "L" would allow me to go straight to the voice channels list, could you bring that back to make getting to the list of channels quicker?
The user settings button used to disappear after clicking on it and closing the settings overlay, it hasn't happened recently, but it might've been squashed or made less prevalent.
Speaking of the settings, please change the way screen reader users interact with combo boxes. Trying to change input/output devices for example is an abomination at the moment... If you could implement a more standard approach such as the following, it would be great. So, you use tab or arrows to get to a combo box, once on it, clicking space expands it, clicking up/down changes the selection, once desired option is focussed, clicking enter selects it and minimises the combo box.
The current setup is bugged. I don't know if the method I outlined as standard is what you are trying to do, but it DOES NOT work at the moment. I currently have to resort to using my mouse to navigate combo boxes because using the keyboard is just so difficult, at least for me anyway.
As of writing this, Discord stops being usable after me and my friend do a session of gaming. It's basically sight-assisted gaming, he connects to my PC and he helps me play, it's really good actually. However, after we're done and I bring Discord up from being minimised, no matter what I try, I cannot interact with Discord. The only way to bring it back is to ALT+F4 and restart the app. It's frustrating and weird.
For any sighted person wondering, install NVDA (it's free), turn ON the built-in screen curtain and actually have a good go at it. And no, the Windows Narrator is not even close, it's rubbish.
