Android voice UI
This has been the new UI for a while, but it bothers me incredibly much.
There are multiple things I'd like to address, so please read the entire post.
Before this big change to the UI, you could see when someone was muted with a red circle here:
The other user here is both deafened and muted at the moment, the only way for me to tell they are muted is to click the Members icon, then in the user list it will show the muted icon next to their name. I do not understand why something as simple as the red circle, which is still used on other devices would be removed from android.
Additionally if there is a call ongoing in DMs or in a groupchat, there is no way to know this unless you either:
- Scroll up to find the message where the call started
- Press the call button and check whether you join an existing call or start a new one
Before this update, there was a little bar at the bottom of your screen showing "Voice ongoing - x connected" or something along those lines, and then you were able to join through that menu.
Last but definitely not least - although not related to accessibility -, my VCs on Android disconnect randomly around every 2 to 4 hours, sometimes faster. When I stay in a call long enough its a given that I'll randomly be disconnected at some point in the call, which is to say the least, very annoying.
The thing that I find weirdest about all these points is that these have never been an issue on the past, nor on other devices. Why would simple features like these be removed?
If it matters, these issues occur on a:
Samsung A71 - SM-A71F/DS - Android 10 - Discord 60.3 Build 1432
