Some Quality of Life fixes

The custom statuses are great, and I absolutely love Discord. However, there are a few quality of life fixes that it really, really needs.

 

- Muting:

----- The ability to mute sound, mute toasts, AND/OR mute badge notifications for a specific server, channel, or user - not simply "Mute all or mute nothing," as it currently is.

----- If you mute a user on a specific server, or outright block them, the ability to NOT receive notifications if they post to that server.

 

- Sounds:

----- Different sounds for Servers vs. DMs?

----- Custom sounds for server notifications, perhaps? Either assigned by the Server Admins or the users themselves, client side.

----- The ability to assign different sounds to different friends, individually.

(I could understand if the second two were behind the Nitro paywall, but truly, that alone would make it worth paying for the service!)

 

- Avatar:

----- Better preview-ability, OR the removal of the "You must wait 10 minutes to change your avatar again" problem. If we can't see how it'll look when finalized until it's actually finalized, then yeah, it might take a few tries to get it right.

 

- Friends:

----- The ability to rename your friends on your own list, for personal viewing, much like can be done on individual servers.

 

- Images:

----- The ability to hide the preview/thumbnail of an image or .gif received on a server or in a DM. For instance, if you're at work, and a friend DMs you an NSFW image, currently your only options are to wait until text scrolls it off the screen, OR changing your settings to hide all images, for the sake of that one image, one time.

 

- Nitro:

----- I pay less per month for unlimited video streaming and unlimited music streaming. And, what do we get with Nitro, some extra emojis and animated avatars? We don't even get better A/V quality on our end, and a server admin needs to recruit other people to help them boost the A/V quality on their servers. Why not a one-time purchase for access to individual features? We're gamers - set it up like any other cash shop!

 

Just my recommendations. Thoughts?

    I like pretty much all of these, and it's a pretty comprehensive list. Only thing I'd add is the ability to favorite certain friends, and maybe have a sound and/or pop-up notification when those friends sign on. Really like the suggestions about sounds listed above, though, especially the ability to just mute sounds without muting all alerts, and custom sounds.
