Block Search Substitutions

When doing a search that contains the special tags, there is no way to prevent the search window from trying to substitute them.  For example, searching for

Benjamin: Just logged in at Alpha

the in: gets replaced with the "in: Channel" selector GUI. There is no way to prevent that from happening.
