How to get started on a design

Hey, Discord Team,

Thanks for reaching out. I signed up because I would like to try my hand at creating a new face for my Ionic. I really like the work of Roger De and would like to try my own along those lines (stats heavy, easy to read).

I have no idea where to begin. I'm not a programmer at all, but fairly good at making use of the work of others.
