Fix Phone Verification
My account asks me to verify by phone nearly every other day. I have two factor authentication enabled. I connect from the same devices. Nobody else has logged into the account. I have not used a new device. Regardless, I continue to be asked to do the same phone verification over and over. Today, the verification told me "This phone number was recently used on a different account." The phone was definitely not used for a different account since I last verified. The only thing I can think of is that Discord flagged the phone to not be used after I used it two days ago, and the time length still hasn't expired, so now I have to use a different phone to verify the same account.
Discord needs to fix this phone verification system immediately, otherwise those of us that use Discord on a regular basis will need to switch platforms to ensure that we aren't disrupted during an event. I personally use discord to communicate with a guild. Many people I play with regularly make new accounts to get arround these verification problems. If I cant find a proper resolution I will be creating a Matrix server to provide all of us with an alternative platform that doesn't constantly have problems. Currently, I would need to purchase a new phone number to get my account verified, and the cost of doing so would be more money than paying for a Matrix server. So, from my perspective it is more affordable to leave Discord. The only reason I would not leave discord is to save other people the hassle of switching platforms.
I have opened, and will continue to open support tickets. So far, the support has been unhelpful in resolving this issue, and I expect that they will continue to be unhelpful. It is likely that support does not have the resources to correctly fix the verification problems, because they are problems in the way the platform is programmed, not problems that can be fixed with the type of tools available to support staff.
Hopefully other people can post to say that they have had similar problems. I've personally communicated with many. I might see if I can rally up a bunch of people to make this really apparent that it's a real issue and not just a random complaint. I understand that discord wants to get phone numbers to tie to the data they gather on their users, and I also understand that they want to keep spam and hacking minimized, but it is working against their own interests to lock out legitimate users from accounts, especially when users like myself have 2FA enabled and working.

y issue is that I don't have a phone plan. I have like a lifeline mobile number, and don't have guaranteed access to it. I'm tempted to use it to verify on a Warframe server.
but with the way these companies operate I'm sure I'll lose my entire account if I ever lose the number for any reason.
why are these tech companies always making the worst decisions possible and never facing and backlash?

This shit still happens for years and Discord won't even fu cking care, they don't care about you, if Discord detects this on your account with lots of features like nitro, badges, 2fa and you even mod servers, then you are fu cked up. I bet Discord enjoys damaging their users with this bullshit no wonder why Discord has an absolute shitty moderation

True, this is years ago but even now. It is still not fixed. You give the right number, it doesn’t send anything. Discord really needs to fix their support. They are just letting the bot answers a basic one. I sent a request and the bot returned me with an email that ignored my problems. The AI doesn’t understand people and it is also Clyde and Clyde is literally fixing. I didn’t get any of these problems that the AI mention either. I spent more time trying to find the solution to it than studying. The verfication is weak, the support is weak, they need to put actual human to help people .

Just in case anyone at Discord reads this, ya'll locked me out of my account and killed off some friends of mine. I told them this was coming some day and having some garbage company like Discord rule over all aspects of a platform is a terrible idea but they wouldn't have it so whatever, no big loss I suppose. Point is I've been using Teamspeak and other platforms for about a year now and you would have to PAY me to come back to this platform. Thank you for forcing me to try the old ways, they are indeed more suited to my tastes. Best part is I host them myself and you can't tell me what I can post, can't post nor can you lock me out of what I pay for. Good riddance. I send all of your emails to spam now since I can't even log in to tell you to leave me TF alone.
