Since Discord is gamers-oriented, why not use .gg as main domain?

Serious, IMHO Discord have a nice domain that fits perfectly - .gg domain. Recently I seen that this changed to .com. What's the point?

Its same if someone had tech project and had .io domain and decided to make it .com.

I know its minor cosmetic but IMHO it takes away a little bit of discord character.
