Discord lags and crashes when I'm in voice/video chat
Generally I can see and hear other people just fine, but the rest of Discord gradually gets slower and slower the longer I'm in a voice and/or video chat, and eventually it crashes. The green circle thing that appears around the icon of someone making noise lags a lot, and typing is very slow too. Oftentimes I have to restart the program to get rid of the lag. . . if the program doesn't crash sooner. Can it be fixed? I use the Linux application.

For me it seems like the same problem im having, but it doesn't slow down, it just crashes at a Random day of its own, most of the Time its working perfectly, im using the Windows App so im guessing its different for each Desktop version

Can confirm too, on Debian (Sid) with Discord 0.0.12, I have the same problem when in voice chat, the application gets slower and slower, and sometimes it will crash without saying anything.

I've got the same Problem, using ZorinOS (which I think I remember is based on Ubuntu 18.04). Joining voice chat and talking lags down the whole PC and Discord gets gradually slower... Seems like not a lot of people are having that problem...

I just found the solution. https://github.com/scj643/gnome-shell-extension-appindicator/commit/999b58d6d889ecd6b7b641ed4ba71c7cf1d4b8b1#
Look at this fork and change the "appIndicator.js" accordingly. This solved the problem for me.
If you don't know where it's located on your disk use the command "sudo find / -name appIndicator.js"
