Can we PLEASE get a Clear Cache button on both desktop app and mobile app?!
The Discord app stores every jpeg, png, webm, mp4, gif, etc, to run the way it does, which I'm fine with. But why is it that Discord has existed for as long as it has, has as many users as it has, and doesn't have a clear cache button?!
If I want to clear my Discord cache on the desktop app I have to close Discord and run a 3rd party app called CacheMonkey (made by Jamie Pine, the guy behind Notify .me), and I don't even know how to clear the cache on the mobile app which is ridiculous. Not only does a large cache reduce app performance, but it has possible legal ramifications for users because it stores everything you see!
Meaning if a user was sent any kind of illegal content (such as CP) and didn't know how to clear their cache, they could technically be prosecutable for having such content downloaded on their device(s) depending on what country they live in! Even if they blocked and reported the sender!
I was only informed about this when I watched Jamie Pine's video about all this.
Also I'm not the only one who has brought up this feature suggestion for these reasons, so here's the other posts I found about this here = Jackj106 Games' post and PugDragon44's post .
PLEASE just add a button that clears the cache on both desktop app and mobile. No one would mind if Discord had to close for that to work! Heck, add an option in the settings to automatically clear the cache when you close the app on desktop! I'd use that.
Cheers.
