SUGGESTION: Turn Notifications Off At Night
This is a suggestion aimed mainly at the mobile app but would be useful on both platforms. It came about after someone in a server I'm in left because he "couldn't be arsed with [user] making his phone buzz at 2am etc."
It would be a good idea for users to be able to define a period in which they will never receive notifications from discord, without having to manually turn off notifications for a particular user/server every night. Any notifications can then stack up and appear at the end of the defined period.
For example, I typically sleep from midnight to 8am, so I could set my sleep period to be 11.30pm until 8am, and then read all of my notifications at 8am or whenever I wake up.
An extension of this would be to allow users to choose whether they set their online status as "Sleeping" during this period (as opposed to online, do not disturb etc.).
This would be most useful to those of us who work full-time jobs and therefore have regular sleep schedules.

I really like this idea and would like to expand on it a bit too. I think it would be cool to also add in something where after a certain amount of time notifications would automatically clear. For instance if the discord channel I am in is a boosting community lots of messages go out daily. It would be a nice quality of life for some of those messages if i do not read them right away that they get cleared out and the ping goes away for me. I think you should be able to have that option for different amounts of times. so if i didnt look at a ping in the discord 10 minutes from now the ping will go away without me having to clear the ping manually by scroll to the bottom for instance.
And obviously it would be different for DM's vs channel pings.
Hopefully i was able to describe what im looking for. and by all means i am not trying to steal the guys thunder above me i just think they are very closely related so why make a new thread.
