Discord needs a reading and writing comprehension test.
I've had a few accounts now over the past few years. Why? The amount of vitriol and hate that comes from some of your far less than intelligent user base. Now, to be fair I understand that not everyone agrees with each other. I expect that. What I also expect is that people have a reading and writing comprehension level above that of a 6th grader, especially in more politically and philosophically inclined servers. I expect children to have the reading level of a child, and because of the fact that most people in their adult years can read and write, I expect them to have at least a grade 12 reading level. I think that is reasonable for most cases.
It's not an impossible request, and it's completely free of any sort of biases if done properly. It will also help keep bot accounts out as a security measure, since reading and writing comprehension is still a somewhat more human based skill. At least I think it is. If wrong, by all means prove me wrong.
I know some people will find this to be a silly thing to ask for. But then, I wouldn't be asking for this if it wasn't required because of the people who think this is silly. Those are the very types of people who make your service a nuisance to use without severely banning and kicking morons from servers. What makes it worse, is many of these morons run the servers.
So we need a fix that affects everyone. Me included. I suggest you make it so everyone has to pass the test to continue using their accounts. If they can't pass the test on reading and writing comprehension on a chat service, they have far larger problems to deal with than not being able to use Discord.

I do understand, definitely about your point. It is valid, and I understand it can be frustrating. But I want to state my opinion that you are assuming that children cannot read at adult level. Also assuming that adults cannot read at a child's level.
Please be open-minded and some people are Autistic. Or dyslexic. Or both. They deserve to be a gamer, and deserve to chat amongst other gamers about what they like about the game, or help on how to do stuff, or even trade items.
Also, I've talked to people who can't spell properly, and it's either their auto-correct, text-to-speech, or the fact that English is not their first language. They all are allowed to be on Discord.
There is nothing wrong with someone signing up for Discord - but they have to be 13 or older - and they need netiquette (new term for internet etiquette).
I wish you all the best, and hope that you reconsider.

I think it is a good idea that they have a reading comprehension test. It would help keep the community safe. Recently we started developing a mobile app for the depapers.com website and also encountered a similar problem.
