Peer to peer discord calls and file transfers.
Peer to peer can be very beneficial for things like allowing higher file size limits when sending files or even lightening general server load, peer to peer can even alleviate video call quality problems for people who have decent internet. People often say this can be a security concern, however I feel that this can be mitigated by making it so you have to enable peer to peer on a per user basis, only allowing it between friends who both have 2FA enabled, etc.
Along with this, it could eliminate calls dropping out halfway through because a discord server has gone down temporarily and allow people who have enabled peer to peer for each other to still message throughout server downtime, leading to a more stable, quicker and more convenient experience between people who trust each other.

I like this idea. There have been times when I've wanted to transfer a save file or something to a friend, but it exceeds the 8MB (why so LOW?) limit, and I have to use other methods. I can see there being a low file size limit for servers, but I think that, if you want to transfer a larger file to your friend, it should prompt both users and ask if they'd like to make a P2P transfer, bypassing Discord's servers. This way, Discord's server bandwidth isn't eaten up, and both parties can choose whether or not they want to initiate the transfer.
