Why no text chat for every voice channel like Skype, TeamSpeak, Teams, Slack, etc.?

Discord is seriously missing it - all voice channels need text channels!  When in a voice channel/room, we could have the right pane show participant icon/video, and the middle or bottom pane channel text chat.  Add options to set what we want to see in each pane, plus column count selections (sort by most verbally active count, descending).  Maybe add pane undock capability, then add always on-top (over other applications) options.
