Android app fails to auto-complete mentions when using Japanese input

When you tap on a suggestion, it will appear for a moment and then disappear immediately. If you switch to English input, it will work correctly.

It occurs in the official version and beta version of the app on Android 11. You should probably be able to reproduce it on Android 10.
I am using Gboard for input.
