Headset going static/not working when opening discord voice options

So my headset works perfectly fine with everything(games, social media, etc). Although whenever i open discord voice and video settings it goes static or just stops noise from happening from everything. Then when i go out of the voice and video settings, i can either replug my headset or switch the mono type in sound settings, and it works again. The same thing happens when i join a discord call, other people are able to hear me but i can't hear them or anything else.
