New Mobile App UI
Originally, I received the new discord mobile update in October… and absolutely hated it.
First, I regularly check the members' list in various servers all the time, and replacing the feature to swipe left to see that list with… replying to a message, makes no sense. There was already a perfectly functioning button that allowed me to reply to a message, and while I can see the merit of an option to quickly reply to a message, getting rid of the ability to swipe to quickly see the members list is far too much of a drawback. I more often check the members list than reply to messages in one day.
Also, the new choice in background colour was far too similar to the colour of spoiler boxes and I was often wondering, in server channels where spoiler boxes were more commonplace, if my discord mobile had crashed or not. Not to mention, because I couldn't see the spoiler boxes, I also couldn't tell how many spoiler boxes there were and that became a problem; sometimes a friend might spoiler something in two separate boxes, one for a content warning, and one for the actual content itself, and because I couldn't tell if there were spoilers at all, I would end up tapping the longer spoiler containing the content before the warning.
Finally, I am absolutely baffled and, frankly, questioning the sobriety of the people who worked on one particular part of this new UI change: the search bar. For what purpose could removing the ability to search the entire server ever benefit a user of your app? Genuinely, I cannot think of a single reason why this seems like a good idea. Most of the time, when I am using the search bar, it is because I need to find something- a message, a video, a link, etc.- and I don't remember where it is; having to search through each individual channel is incredibly tedious and frustrating and after I realized that the search wouldn't look through the whole server, I stopped using it entirely. Whenever I had to search something, I would rather wait however long it took to eventually get to my desktop and use the search bar on the desktop app.
Thankfully, I had an option to revert back to the previous UI, which I am currently using and have been using for the past couple weeks when I realized there was an option for it, but I've recently learned that anyone who got the update recently does not have that option, which is quite a shame. I can very confidently say that I have never used the Discord mobile app so little than in that one month or so when I had the new UI and, I imagine, that many other people will experience the same, either spending more time on desktop or spending overall less time on Discord entirely. It was a truly awful UI change and I really urge this company to revert the changes listed above entirely or, at the very least, give everyone the option to revert to the old UI.

Well said Hogya. I've used the mobile UI for ~3+ years now and it's been great as-is, I subscribed to Nitro even to get more storage and support the company a bit. Today I canceled that entirely, the new UI is atrocious to use and extremely lacking in accessibility and consistency consideration. This doesn't feel like Discord, it feels like every other messenger out there. I stopped using all the other messengers because the UI sucked. Now Discord sucks.
M.a.kgamer, if you think this new update is good, you'd do better on another application instead, as collectively this is a completely thoughtless change.
