Can't Disable Contact Searching
“Allow contacts to find me” is forced on and cannot be disabled. Forums online say the settings is in Privacy and Safety but my settings don't have this feature toggable.
There's also no way for me contact support for this bug because I don't have Twitter.
I did not consent to this breach of privacy and am offended that this setting is defaulted on.

It is not forced on, what you are looking at is a prompt to enable it, not the setting itself. The app physically cannot access your contacts without express OS permission being granted by you, the user. If you never interact with that prompt, your contacts won't ever be visible to Discord.

the toggle in the mobile UI is in the Add Friends section, a check at the bottom. Contrary to what humulos says above, the setting was ticked on by default, and the app on iOS does not allow me in iOS settings to change whether it can access my contacts, and ticking / unticking the box does not prompt any message about whether the app can access my contacts.

What the comment above describes is the prompt, like I said in my post, not the setting. It being checked or unchecked changes nothing on its own. Please go to the actual settings of Discord in your app and review the option in there to see that it is not enabled.
