Emojis not working on iPad/Tablet

when the new atrocious update got here the mobile layout changed horribly for the phone users. being an iPad user i thought i was fine, but then aproximately 1 month after the update they updated the photos (its slightly slower to select photos now) and emojis.

before the update i changed my keyboard to the sticker section. it wont let me change it to emoji or gif. i use the apple “magic” keyboard (physical). 

another issue i see is that the emoji/sticker keyboard now doesnt go up when i click the button. but it only happens when i have the keyboard connected. figures.
