Toggle the offline member list

I understand that this was just reverted from only being toggled off if a server has 100+ members. But please let us be able to toggle it off. It lags mobile clients, and completely hard crashes it most of the time. It also really slows performance on desktop as well. Even having an option in the server menu to hide it for yourself would be great. Just something.

    Please let admins be able to toggle this on and off.

    I run an online convention using your platform. 
    While this is fine for the main areas with the 1000+ members. It's really not helpful for the areas with the 5-20 people who are trying to run things behind the scenes. 

    I am NOW going to have to make lists of people's handles outside of discord to ensure I remember who is in what category to ensure I remember they are IN THAT AREA. Because as everyone knows, there are some people who just don't come online/ rarely do.

    That list was also extremely helpful because it let me remember who was who when I forgot someone's handle and needed to ping them... 

    Having to remove people from an area/ their roles was so easy when I could see them  on the offline list. It's going to be a NIGHTMARE now.

    Also, It's beyond stressful to be in a channel with 2 other people and not see them in an Offline list.

    Can we please change this?

    Most laptops have good performance and it's difficult for me to see trial mods, friends who use offline mode constantly, etc... It should be a toggle option and if Discord wants to keep it on for lower end devices then maybe have it so that it's on by default but you're told that you can turn it off and see offline lists when you scroll to the bottom of the member list in a 1k+ server.

    Discord really hasn't been listening to feedback in a while but please if people are going to have to see "INVITE FRIENDS!" at the top of the channel list and be used to it then they can get used to popups telling them how to disable something.

    Please let everyone be able to toggle the ability to see offline members, on and off. Or have it so you can at least see offline members in certain channels that are under 1000.

    Toggle Offline Member List
    Community servers should be allowed to toggle this on/off, regardless of member count. 
    Discord has been pushing for more safety and this is one easy way to help your community servers.
    The existence of spambots, hackers, and scammers are a constant threat to users of Discord. Public server owners allotted control will be able to better protect their members.

     

     

    Idea 1:

    Include this option for all servers, public or private.

    Idea 2:

    If not included for all servers by default, provide this option to public community servers at minimum. 

    Idea 3: 

    Along with public community servers, allow individuals to choose if they show up offline.
