Android Hardware PTT Support

I have an Inrico TM-7 that I would like to use with discord.  The device has a hardware PTT button and other apps (Zello, teamspeak, mumble, etc) are able to use the hardware button as PTT.

    Especially now with the React Native dev framework bringing desktop and mobile closer together would be a really welcomed feature to have hardware PTT support. If not on-device then atleast support for external (USB-C?) keyboard to be able to be mapped for PTT.

    I find it really dangerous to use the on-screen PTT while driving and my car is so old the cabin noise messes up the voice recognition, so all my friends hear are clinks and clonks and other annoying noise.

    I could easily avoid this by wiring a single-button keyboard to somewhere where I can easily always reach it while driving without putting myself, others on the road or my friends mental health at risk.
