Feature Request: Multiple Voice Tracks
I play a lot of WoW and League of Legends, and one thing I constantly find myself wishing existed was subchannels for voice. Primarily, in WoW, I want to be able to talk to other healers without the whole raid needing to stop talking to hear the plan. The most elegant solution I've thought of for this would be a "shout" keybind.
Discord already has categories into which you can place multiple voice channels. The shout button would simply be a PTT button that broad casts not just to the channel they are in, but to all channels within that category. While this is somewhat more limited than a sub-group option, where I somehow have buttons that only speak to certain people within the current channel, it is immediately more understandable, and doesn't have the issue of constant adjustment based on people leaving/joining.
There are certainly potential downsides to this system, I am of the opinion that all can be very easily managed with appropriate permissions and server management. New users shouldn't be able to use this command, for instance, and categories should appropriately enable/disable access to it based on the role.
If Discord would rather implement sub-channels and "whispering" instead, where a voice call can have multiple "voice tracks", which I can opt into (healer, DPS, tank, general, for instance), that would be fine too, but I see UX issues regarding appropriately keybinding 3 different buttons if that is desired.
