Not getting notifications even after I've already unmuted a friend (in DMs)

I have the same exact issue. After unmuting I will get notifications on my PC if I check there, but none on my phone whatsoever. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and tried muting/unmuting again and at different lengths. Still haven't found a fix.

This issue persists in the latest update 20.5 (1127). However, after choosing the mute for 15 minutes then immediately unmuting them, IN-APP notifications return, but still no out-of-app notifications.

    Android 7.1.1

I'm having the same issue with my BF's DM's, though I have never had him muted.. it started with this past update. It's happening on mobile and PC. I don't get a sound alerts, popups on screen/ banner on mobile, even the little bubble on the left side doesn't pop up with an alert. :(

Before people ask I am available status, no streamer mode, and not tabbed into those DM's on another device. it just doesn't work. And it's, so far, only with him.

I don’t know if it works for every phone but, try blocking the person and unblocking them and adding them back it should work. But I don’t know if it’s for every phone it worked for my friend though

I found a fix, but it is kinda tedious, try muting that person for 15 minutes, after 15 minutes the problem should be fixed

Ok, I solved it for my cell phone, but my desktop app still has issues on and off... It seems to do it more often after updates so maybe there is something going on with it on Discord's end.

Solve for cell phones (at least android, but I assume it would work for iPhones as well):

Go to your phone's settings and go to the "Apps" section
Once there you will select Discord and "clear cache" or whatever your phone calls it... memory.. etc.
After that uninstall the app and restart your phone (it makes it so that when you re-install you have absolutely no leftover or corrupted files from the previous install.
Once your phone has fully restarted go to your app store and select "install"
You WILL have to log in since you cleared the cache/ memory so make sure you know your user and pass.

I did this same day that I made a comment on this thread. So far I have gone 3 months with 0 issues so I would say this was an easy fix.

Again, this is the phone version, however, I would assume the same would work for the desktop app.

Anyway have a good day :3

Update to the newest version, this is a bug caused by an outdated user-side client.
