Personal issues with new "Overlapping panels" UI on Android
So I recently got the new panels that allow you to slide the screen to the right in order to open the hamburger menu. However, I have an issue with the fact that the chat appears to go on top of the other panels. In previous UI designs, the chat was typically underneath the side panels, and this worked pretty well, However this new change that places the chat above these side panels is incredibly jarring, and actually makes the app uncomfortable for me to use thanks to the visuals associated with this. I would really like this part of the feature reverted (as in, make it to where the chat appears underneath the side panels rather than above them), or at the very least, some sort of option to switch between the two. As it currently stands, I am not comfortable using the mobile app for Discord due to the jarring visual of the chat being above these side panels

Same issue for me. I have never seen an app that draws the sidebar UNDER the main view. Even in apps where swiping makes you move between screens, it's always "the latest (top) view slides away". But the chat view is the main view, so it's the base. And as such, the sidebar is the new/top view. So the sidebar should be one that slides in and out, while the chat itself stays in same place.

mine only updated today for some reason but i dont like it at all and agree it should ho back to the side panels on top with the main chat staying still
