New Android UI
The new android channel text area looks and feels out of place in discord, along with being impractical to use.
The new camera shortcut is not useful in any way and makes sending messages harder, considering I never use the camera and often put screenshots on my messages. If it really is useful for some users, the image picker's default section could be a setting in Appearance.
The emoji picker is now bloated with a search bar along with being extra small, meaning you can show only 3 rows of emoji. I could search faster by simply inputting a colon, as I did before, and it is now harder to look for emoji without knowing the name.
This update has caused real damage too, with people getting banned from servers for accidentally calling or sending friend requests to people when trying to send messages:
This hasn't happened to me yet, but I feel like it definitively could.

Worst part is, the "send" button doesn't reach the side of the screen and I sometimes miss it, when I tap near the side. This update is awful.

I never use the camera function. I mainly only send files or images already stored on my phone.
There are already two cumbersome methods my phone uses to launch the camera when I don't need it.
This new UI just added a third method I certainly don't intend to use, and definitely don't need.
With no way to turn it off, I am actually becoming apprehensive in using the mobile app now.
On the other hand, while I'm optimistic someone at Discord cares about this, the realist in me knows that Discord has no incentive to care about the whims and pleadings of its user base. What's more important is pushing features that benefit the platform first and foremost, which it seems to be trying to become an intermediary Snapchat or Instagram app.
So, is the angle now to become a Social Media platform? If so, this definitely seems like something Facebook or Twitter would do. Which I hope they never will. For the sake of UIs everywhere.

I am considering removing it from all of my devices if it isn't fixed SOON!
