This would be nice, however I think the discord team is withholding doing this possibly do to space concerns on lower resolution monitors / displays that do not have the amount of pixels needed to display it in the more crisp 1080p+
However, what I believe they could do to get around this issue of resolution is to have a smaller Spotify status which would not display the album cover, rather just text, but they may be withholding from this due to their terms with Spotify.
