Same screen sharing experience on macOS and Linux
One of my favorite functions that Discord has is the ability to share live video game footage and sound with friends in a call so that they can follow your gameplay remotely. However, outside of Windows I have noticed this feature doesn’t work as expected. I wanted to let you guys know in case it’s something that can be fixed fairly easily.
Linux:
On Linux, it identifies the game window as being open (With the option to Go Live for it), but when clicked it doesn’t actually begin the stream. If another window is already being streamed, it just discontinues the stream altogether without starting a new one. When I choose the game window manually under the streamable windows menu, it does stream the visuals but not the sound. It’s possible the issue with go live not streaming automatically may have to do with using Steam Proton for Linux games, but they should still work.
Mac:
On macOS Catalina, it recognizes the game under “Game Activity”, but does not provide an option to Go Live and the game window does not appear under the streamable windows. The only way to stream is via streaming the entire desktop, which is both low frame rate and does not stream audio.
Is there any way both of these might be able to be addressed? I’d love to see Discord have parity across all three major computing platforms, especially in a time where streaming games together is more important than ever.

It formatted my entry really weird, so I apologise for how jumbled it is.
