Server channel deletion buffer

I'm currently not a fan of how easy it is for things in servers to be deleted with no way of archiving or backing up what was lost. This problem plagues largely-populated community servers. I believe there should be a buffer set in place in case of accidental deletion or administrators going AWOL and sabotaging a server. It could be 30 days, 7 days, or even just 24 hours. Almost any amount of time to give someone to restore the channel is better than nothing. Not everyone likes to live dangerously. Large amounts of people have begged for the ability to restore deleted channels over the years, I don't understand why we don't have it yet.
Why even stop there, why not have it apply to the entire server as well?
I've already had one hacker delete servers I had. If it was possible to save them to my PC or a cloud service, so many of these issues could be prevented.
