Discord lagging out when exiting a League game

Discord just completely stops working whenever I exit a game of League of Legends. Other programs work fine, I can open/close them with no issues, it's just Discord that has this issue. I have posted on League forums and am told it's a problem with Discord. Is there a fix? It's been like this for over a month and I really dislike it when a conversation with my friends is paused every time we exit the game. This happens to all of us.
