Music automatically playing when you click a channel.
Hello staff and fellow Discordians! An idea has been on my mind for a while now, and that's music automatically playing once you click on a channel. I had a really cool idea where a channel would act as a store and in the background store music would play. When I found out that wasn't an option, I tried looking to different route.
Discord recently added text channels to voice chats. I decided that I would have a bot play music in the channel while the store products would be in the ingrained text channel. There's one flaw to this, and that's the fact that you're able to view the ingrained text channel without joining the voice chat. I want the music to feel as natural as possible. If someone just clicks the chat button, then they have no need to join the actual voice chat.
I have 2 things that I would like to suggest. Even just one of these being implemented would put a huge smile on my face.
1. Turn the idea I had into an even bigger one. Instead of just channels having music that plays automatically when you click them, maybe have music play for the entire server as well? People can choose to mute it of course.
2. Scratch the first idea and just do music that can automatically play once you click a certain channel. And yes, automatically. If this suggestion somehow makes its way to the discord developers and by the grace of God they say, "huh, you know, that's a good idea!" then please don't just add the music feature without there being an automatic option.
I understand that people may need to be given a warning beforehand, and that's fine by me.
