140.15 - Stable Update feels laggy

I just updated to 140.15 on Android and from the moment I launched the app I could tell the UI felt laggier than normal. Some chats which were loading in an instant wait a second before loading the messages, scrolling up to see older messages stutter more than usual and there seems to be an overall drop in frames when trying to interact with the app. I tried clearing the cache but after loading things back up to see if it helped and going back and forth between what was reloaded it doesn't look like it did anything noticable either. I should also add the changes with font and text spacing feels odd and to me it looked cleaner before the update. ~~Just adding this here. This is an honest feedback and if there is an issue to be fixed you I wish good luck to whoever is going to be fixing it.

Same here. I just got the 140.16 update and the UI is suddenly so delayed and there's so much changed. On top of that it seems after a while of just messaging my phone started getting pretty hot. Even on the Play Store all the recent reviews are 1-2 star sharing the same experiences and opinions about the new update.
