Nested Discord Servers

So I have for a long time been managing servers and there is one main problem. If you ban people because they broke the rules, there Is no way for them to appeal. This can be a problem if the ban was accidental or with no grounds, they won't be able to defend themself or If they just have learned from their mistake and want to be a part again... they can't.

Would it be possible to allow the option for nested discord servers? Where you as an owner(owner only) can set up a second server and take one of the "don't expire" links, put it in a field on the main server where it says "if a person is restricted from this server redirect them too:" (insert discord invite).

This would be super helpful since we could then set up second servers which are only for creating appeal tickets. So if a person that is banned from the server joins it will say "you have been banned from {serverName} please join the server below to write an appeal". 

And this feature could even be added on top that "if the server cap is hit a redirect to server" (insert discord invite). So if a server can't have space for more people it will say on the invite "discord server is full you can join the second server here or come back later to check"

And then the owner could post on the second server whenever there is space for more people.

    I don't see this problem being serious enough to require Discord to step in. I recommend using a bot to automatically DM an invite to the appeals server upon joining the main server and also placing an invite in the #rules channel.

    anon3389270 i have not tested this but can a bot dm server members if they have dm turned off from that server?

    Hello Jax.

    To your original post, i must agree with LucaH. Discord bots such as Dyno are a great way to reach the banned users.

    When it comes to reaching them, Discord Bots cannot DM users who don't share servers with the bot or have DM's disabled.

    Tl;Dr more bans = better mod.

    I've seen similar resolution in practice where in the rules (you agree with anything I say by reading this and you can't unread it) there are backup servers that you have to join so you can limit your server limit cap by half.
    Didn't join them just in case?
    Haven't added anyone to help you out if you get kick or accidentally leave because server changed name and PFP pic?
