No more email notifications?

I used to get email notifications fairly regularly, but then they suddenly stopped. After a long back-and-forth with Discord support we finally figured out that the reason they stopped was because I had briefly used Discord's mobile app. Apparently if you EVER use the mobile app, no matter how briefly, you PERMANENTLY and IRREVERSIBLY lose the ability to receive email notifications. This makes little sense to me and I suggest this "feature" be changed.
