Private channel default permissions - allowing users to create and manage channels in a category
When creating a private channel (toggling on to make a channel private while in the window to create it), the permissions for @everyone become nullified, except for 'view channel', which is set to off. I have no problem with the 'view channel' part, but other permissions (send messages, manage channel, etc.) shouldn't be changed from the category default to neutral. There is no reason to nullify these - if a user can't view the channel, then they can't use any of their other permissions on it anyway.
For context, the reason I would like to maintain @everyone permissions during this channel creation process is because I want to have a category where people can create their own private channels, no matter what role they are. This would allow people to essentially have their own group chats inside the server. However, with this nullifying of roles, they lose the ability to manage their own channel once they create it, because they have no access inside that channel. There is a workaround - create the channel first, which will default to private as the category default but maintain the regular category permissions, then edit who can view the private channel. This does not adjust the permissions, but is more complicated than necessary, and I believe that it doesn't make sense to adjust all default permissions for the @everyone role instead of just changing the 'view channel' permission.
