Forum Channels for Non-Community Servers
Forum Channels are equally useful to non-community servers and should be enabled.
Threads meet this need to an extent, but non-community server owners may want to designate certain channels as "Threads only". We also don't get the tagging functionality or UI of Forum Channels, which are both pretty neat.
Please? I never want to look at an Enjin or Guildportal ever again.

nemesi5 You can deactivate the community and it will still keep your forum channels, but you won't be able to create them, unless you are one of the 25% of community Discord servers that can create forum channels

Do you know why 25% of non community servers can create forum channels?

Why are features being gate-kept behind community server labels? I run a friends-and-family server that I would like to add a forum channel but I can't because... Who knows why? What a cool feature to allow us to discuss all the latest games without the clutter of individual text channels. Such a shame our boosted server is hamstrung by gatekeeping what we do or don't "need".

I'm back to bump this.
I still have my forum channels for some weird reason, I can still make new ones and my main server isn't a community server. No idea why certain servers have a community feature while being a non-community server. I'm hoping Discord actually says something about this cuz forums or a similar feature for random servers would be great, like some sort of gallery channel.2 -
Just discovered this feature was missing from non-community servers… This seems so arbitrary and unnecessary to disclude this. I was going to switch to a community server and switch back just to add a forum channel, but then it said I had to add a rule that scans messages from all users to switch?? That's an outright obnoxious requirement just to add a forum.

Noticed the ability to create forum channels was removed when I went to add another one to a different section of our guild discord. Frustrating that this is still locked behind the “community” setting.

Dear Discord Product Development Team,
Please consider there may be private organizations using Discord as a central hub for communication and sharing. These organizations might just want the option to use certain features of Discord currently only unlocked in Community Servers (like Forum Channels) without having to:- Make their servers publicly accessible
- Let Discord scan all messages/media on the server (NDAs, general privacy concerns, etc.)
- Let Discord remove messages and media it deems “unsafe” or “inappropriate”
- Let Discord see any of the contents of the Private business' media and interactions in any form
At least consider adding community-only features to Boosted servers. I beg of you. Something.
Sincerely,
Every small business trying to use something other than Slack4 -
Once again encountered the need for forum-type channel in my private guild server and came back to bump that. Would be great if I could just start a new topic for every game we play instead of creating new channel.
