New rule for a Transfer Ownership-Request

Currently, server ownership is only transferred if the owner has not been logged into their account for at least a month.

The whole thing is stupid for servers where the owner is simply inactive but continues to use Discord.

There are owners who ignore their own team members, but continue to be on Discord. If a team member wants to change something that only the owner can do (for example, applying to be a partner), then the whole thing doesn't work.

So servers would become inactive in the long run and Discord has another unnecessary server on the platform.

It would be easier if Discord checks the server on request and looks for the activity of the owner and if necessary also accept message links which prove that the owner is inactive and ignores team members. With such a check there would be less inactive and dead servers on Discord.

    I think this is a really good work around. It could come into other issues, however.

    Main issue is that someone else could just run the server and run it to the ground, etc. It's a difficult thing to have control of. And I do not think people would like being pinged " You haven't used this server in a month" every now and then, because I am sure we all have our own personal servers we use to drop links and other resources for ourselves. (Or emoji dumps!)

    I think being able to have a voting system where the community can vote to have the owner/leader of the Server pinged to re-engage stuff is a good idea? Transfering ownership can never truly ever go smoothly... as some people just up and delete things without a warning when confronted with the fact the servers been dead so long ):

    Just common issues, but I do think having more integration for potential server transfers when the owner just isnt around/isnt active at all would be good. Looking forward to more ideas for this.

    A server owner should always be looking his best, if he is not online a certain time of the week or something, it shows that the server has no future. Commitment is everything in life.
