Modern android UI unusable

Occasionally I check to see if the android discord has fixed its UI to be useable, but every time I do, it's exactly the same, including on my tablet so I've given up on checking. There's no spacing for the time etc on my phone where it normally would be, the font sizing options are limited and end up being far too big and small when 90% is my specific text size. The channels feel both too tight and too wide as with the messages in general and it feels all clunky and physically impossible to adjust to. The UI being made the same as in ios is an actual joke when clearly it doesn't cross over well. If anyone has any updates on how the UI actually is and if it ever changes to something bearable please let me know, because I won't be updating my mobile versions until it's definite.

    mine updated without my consent, now i cant make it go back at all, and its hardcoded to use three times as much mobile data. discord is actively taking money out of my pocket at this point

    spaceAndy I suggest making sure you turn off 'enable auto update' before downloading an older apk, which so far has ensured discord doesn't update by any means unless I physically press the update button, I use version 126.11 so I don't know if that aids with preventing any auto updates.
