Option to disable some/all markdown (or auto-character-escaping)

We would like to see the additional of an opt-out toggle option for markdown features (whether grouped by text, headers, etc, or all off/on), for cases in which symbols have to be -frequently- used, and not need to have to escape every single time it appears.

Big example case:
The plural community (including both involuntary (e.g. DID/OSDD) systems and voluntary (tulpa, etc) systems), which can make up at least 2-5% of the userbase, by involuntary systems alone, often uses symbols to denote who is speaking (including in DMs, where bots like PluralKit and Tupperbox don't work). Simply adding a single toggle to options, to disable some/all of markdown, would alleviate this unfortunate hassle (which became more prominent with the addition of header markdown symbols added in) on this community, and other cases where markdown behavior is not desired.
