Add support for AVIF images

Please add support for the AVIF image file format. It is likely to grow significantly in popularity because of the following benefits over JPG:

  • Images are typically 30% smaller (sometimes up to 85 or 90% smaller). This results in faster page loads, faster uploads, and reduced data costs.
  • Supports HDR display on new monitors, which offers substantial improvements in image quality: https://gregbenzphotography.com/hdr/
  • Supports transparency (this not very relevant to Discord, but will help drive interest in the format in general).

It is already supported by all major browsers other than MS Edge: https://caniuse.com/avif

    also not to mention than they also support animation with more than 256 colors

    +1 this. Edge added support for AVIFs since 121 as well.

    And unsupported platforms can show download link, same as they have before.

    Yep, MS Edge now supports it too. All modern browsers support AVIF, the only missing piece are users with significantly outdated browsers - and that gap is continuously closing. 94% of web views are now on a browser supporting AVIF: https://caniuse.com/avif

    Please consider this, Avif is a format that is gaining a lot of use and discord could also help with the popularity of that format
