Searching for user in channel permissions ignores server nicknames

When configuring channel permissions, server nicknames are not used for searching for users. All other parts of Discord use server nicknames over usernames when present. It makes it very hard to find a user when their server nickname is not shown.

My guild also uses a bot for adding all users, and sets their server nickname automatically from our membership database. So we don't use usernames at all for interaction on Discord. So identifying a user by username is very, very difficult. And also does not fall in line with the rest of Discord.
