Add user handle filter to Chat

I really like the handle popup when you type the "@" symbol. I would like to see this extended into a filter tool.  Once handles are selected only messages from those users would show up in the main thread. For both busy server channels and to look up past posts this would make it very convenient. Until toggled off this could make small group or 1x1 discussions on the main channel thread more easy to read while still posting all comments for the rest of the community to share and learn from.
