automatic Keyboard on Windows tablet
I'm on a Surface Pro 7. When I enter a channel or change channels, the cursor always jumps into the textbar and opens the onscreen keyboard. this is really annoying when i quikly change channels and the keyboard opens up everytime.
When I have the real keyboard attached, it works fine, and on my android smartphone it also works fine: the keyboard only opens when I click in the text bar.
The solution could be a setting: Automaticly jumping into the text bar. another solution could be a better recognition, if the device has real keyboard or only a virtual one.

The default behaviour seems to be that on jumping channels the cursor is already active in the text box. This is desired behaviour on desktops, because you can just start typing. It works on mobile devices as well, because the on-screen keyboard open on tapping in the text box. However Windows is different. It opens the keyboard when the cursor is active. Disabling this in Windows settings is not a solution, because it also blocks opening it by tapping the text box.
The only solution I can think of is disabling jumping into the text box, when the app is running on Windows in tablet mode (both conditions must match). Maybe also give that an option in the setting to enable or disable this check.
I really hope this will be fixed in the future, but I guess we are a tiny minority using Discord on Windows in tablet mode.

janmeyhoff I contacted Discord today and they refused. They said it's "supposed" to be that way even though they know it's unusual behavior. I suspect as Lefti said, convertible Windows device users are too much of a minority for Discord to care, even if their poorly executed implementation is miserable to deal with. Why don't they just make the phone clients open the keyboard literally every time there's a text field onscreen, too?
