Discord suspended my account because of a billing error on their end.
What happened :
I cancelled my nitro subscription a month ago in January because I wanted to change payment methods and renew with the 1 year subscription to take advantage of the 2 free months. The problem is on my account I had a third boost (there are two free boosts and then you can buy discounted boosts if you use nitro). When I spoke with support about cancelling my subscription in early January, they said to remove the payment methods when I unsubscribe and everything should be good.
So today my nitro ran out, which was expected and good. However I was billed $4.99 for that stray third boost. This annoyed me because of the price difference, but that was not the problem.
When I went to renew my nitro subscription to take advantage of the 1 year rate, it wouldn't work. It said I had successfully upgraded, but there was no two boosts for the servers that I support (and these are fairly important academic resource servers thousands of nitro-less students have come to rely on).
I opened a support ticket trying to find out what was wrong, and the issue was the 4.99 boost subscription. You know, the one that wasn't supposed to be there in the first place. It would have to expire before the nitro activated, so I would have to wait until March 3rd.
I asked support to fix this, and they basically told me to sit and spin and that I'd have to wait a month to renew my subscription.
Considering that I had the evidence that this subscription fee should never have gone through in the first place (as my nitro did not re-bill for February, I had removed my payment methods), I responded saying "No, this problem is your fault. Fix it".
Support ghosted me so I opened a dispute on paypal concerning the problematic 4.99 to get real support, providing full context and screenshots explaining the problem.
And then fifteen minutes later bang, all of my discord apps are logged out and my account is suspended. I open a ticket concerning this issue and update the paypal dispute. The original nitro-boost problem ticket has been open for an hour.
Discord, really? Your system assumes no fault and basically bans users for reasonably reacting to problematic charges?
Are you serious?
edit: following over an hour of being ghosted by Discord support, I've opened a formal complaint with the BBB and recommend others in a similar position do likewise.

Mind you, I did not issue a chargeback.
The ticket I opened via Paypal was "product not as described" ticket which just opens a support message chain directly to Discord billing.0
