Reduced Motion Settings on Mobile (iOS)

Today I've noticed that animated emotes and gifs no longer auto play because I enabled reduced motion settings on my phone, outside of Discord itself. Within the Discord settings there is no option to customize without disabling my phone's settings. I keep the option checked on my phone because I don't like the app transitions, but now I have to choose between that and seeing my animated emotes with Nitro. Please separate / untie these options from each other.

    There's a toggle for it. Under the Appearance settings on mobile, at the bottom there's a Reduced Motion section. It seems that the most recent update set the "Sync with Device Settings" to default to on, which is why it just started causing issue now.

    Hey, I’m using an iPhone 6. My Appearance settings don’t seem to include this section. Are you two android users, or am I really blind?

    I'm on iPhone 12 running IOS 14.4 and the reduced motion device sync toggle is at the bottom of the Appearance tab for me.

    I was pretty annoyed by this and I hope they change it. I much prefer using reduced motion on iOS as I find it a cleaner experience, but to have my nitro subscription half ruined due to this change is frustrating. Hopefully they can alter it int he next update as it’s really unnecessary to tie them both together. Animated gifs and gif emotes should be nothing to do with the fact I don’t want my apps to pop in and out.

    MitosisDNB You can fix it. Under the Appearance settings in your app scroll to the bottom and toggle the "Sync with Device Settings" off and it'll go back to normal.
