I would love to see a temporary ban system on Discord.
* All you would do is add a menu item called "Temp Ban" when you right click on someone to temporarily ban them.
* This would then bring up a menu where the person doing the banning can specify when they want them to be unbanned in a format like dd/mm/yyyy and hh:mm format. Also include a reason box of course.
* What makes the temporary bans smart? Glad you asked. There should also be an option in server settings to notify people of certain roles (moderators, admins, server owner, etc) when someone's temporary ban has ended. This way they can reach out to the banned person and let them know they can come back now.
* ALTERNATIVELY the temp bans could be configured to send a Discord system message to the banned person themselves letting them know their ban period has ended, and include an invite link that is identical to the one they clicked on when they first joined so that no new link has to be generated (for security purposes). Unless of course the invite link has been deleted or invalid, in which case only notify that the ban is lifted and include no link.
Pretty neat idea huh? Please make it happen it's not fun storing a text document on my computer full of dates to unban people and why they were banned. :(
