Allow VOIP numbers.
Yes we know that discord is worried about spam and security on their platform but allow trusted and high rating VOIP phone number services to be used for sms verification like Google Voice but since no one could have one number on multiple accounts that reduce the possibility of spam.

Yes please! I'm currently sitting in the crowd of users that do NOT have a mobile device, and these servers turning that discriminatory highest setting on is effectively locking me out of their communities with NO other way to get around this trash.
Please allow Google Voice numbers to work, they are FULLY SMS capable, and Google has anti-fraud measures in place (Still need to verify using some other phone service, like a POTS telephone call to get a number assigned)....

Please allow this. I have a carrier that is VoiP, but it is a legit number with SMS capabilities.
I can't even backup the two factor authentication because it won't let me use my phone number for SMS alerts. VOIP providers are more common these days, lets gooooooooooo.

Yes please. Republic Wireless phones do not work at all for verification, despite being "real" cellphones because they are classified as VoIP. I don't see how this requirement is that useful. Or at least add an option for servers to allow VoIP.

Also, please allow Skype numbers. I pay for my Skype phone and use it for voice and text.

Yes I agree, I got locked out of my account because discord wont allow them

Yea, time to switch to a new chat service.. my kids dont have phones but we game and chat with family over discord till they forced a phone. If you guys were going to do that you should have considered these situations... like having a family group under my phone or something.

I'm also stuck on this. no cellular service where I live and spend large majority of my time. Please have some manner of supporting this!
